School Streets Use Assessment

Further to two previous commissions to support the Environment, Neighbourhoods and Growth Team at the London Borough of Southwark, we were commissioned to complete observations and analysis relating to several streets around schools in Dulwich.

Expanding the School Streets Restrictions

Already the borough has School Streets measures limiting access to Dulwich Primary School. Our work was to investigate the way other streets in the area, including those fronting Kingsdale and Dulwich Prep, were being used on a school day, a non-school day and a Sunday. This was to provide evidence for the team regarding the consequences of any extension of the School Street boundary.

Reporting Dashboard

The survey was designed to identify the likely purpose of those parking, differentiating between residents, workers and shorter-stay visitors. Results were collated into a print-ready spatial-view dashboard. This enabled users to readily see the different uses in the street on the different days surveyed.
